July 12th 2005 - the second Jimmy
Davis Memorial Cup match was held at Redditch United - Watford played
Redditch. It was a perfect summers evening as the crowds turned up
to see the match and enjoy the atmosphere. There were raffles and an
auction- great prizes offered such as a personalised football shirt signed
by David Beckham, and a Chelsea shirt signed by the players. The
only down side was the injury to Richard Softley, the Redditch defender,
who fell awkwardly and broke his ankle. GET WELL SOON RICHARD! The end
result was Redditch 0 - Watford 3!
Our special guest was
Cyrille Regis who very kindly came to present the trophy with Jimmys
mum, Jenny.
The match raised £6308.10 for the
Fund! Thank you to everyone who helped and supported us!

Man of the Match, Junior, is
presented with his trophy by Cyrille Regis
The Hornets have completed
the signing of Brazilian striker Junior on a two-year contract.
The 29-year-old forward has
recently been training with Adrian Boothroyd's squad and in fact hit two
goals during Watford's first pre-season match at Redditch last Tuesday.
Born in the Brazilian town of
Fortaleza, Junior was snapped up by Walsall in the summer of 2002 and his
record in English football since then is 23 goals in just under 60 starts.
