The Jimmy Davis Memorial Fund has been set up by Jimmy's family to raise funds in order to help young up and coming
footballers in the town.
The main aim of the fund is to support youth football and to support
childrens charities; the fund was founded
after the tragic loss of a very talented young footballer from
Redditch, Jimmy Davis, who died in August 2003 at the age of twenty one. He
had represented his country from the age of 15 to under 20’s level, signed
for Manchester United FC at the age of 14 & made his debut at Arsenal FC.
Sir Alex Ferguson sent him out on loan to Swindon Town FC & Watford FC;
all these clubs very kindly support the fund.
